| Text information in a web page is the most important aspect. |
Information is the king. What does this mean? A web page is visited for the information present in it. It may be some general information or info about some service/product you offer etc. So basically your website needs to put the information clearly visible to the person who came looking for it.
Information can be presented either in form of direct text or using a image with picture and text in it. Although images make websites colorful to the eyes, search engines cant read the text in it or can neither understand the picture/animation or text in a image. Also images make a good amount of size in KBs. Which makes it slow in download. So you need to make a web page using minimum number of images.
While adding text to a page, make sure that you have a very good grammatically correct, information which will make a user happy for visiting your website. Never do things only to make search engines happy. I have seen people adding a single keyword 100 of times. This makes no sense. Even if you are able to deceive a search engine (May be, but will not be in most cases), a visitor will find the page offensive and close the explorer window. Visitor retention is the most needed feature of a website.
Never use negative techniques. A search engine should see the same what your visitor see. Use a target=_blank>Lynx viewer to check what information is seen by a search engine from your website.
Never try to cloak a search engines. Do not use doorway pages just to attract search engine rankings.
